Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance against New Mexico in Week 1 of the college football season.

The 6-foot-5 junior standout lit up the Lobos defense for 304 yards and four touchdowns on just 10 receptions. His yardage feat in the Wildcats’ 61-39 victory resulted in a school single-game record. He broke Jeremy McDaniel’s 1996 mark of 283 receiving yards.

McMillan was only 10 yards short of matching a conference record in the program’s first game since leaving the Pac-12, as Baylor’s Terrance Williams (314 yards) retains that distinction set in 2012.

His four trips to the end zone also tied a single-game record set by Jacob Cowing (10 receptions, 88 yards) last season in a bonkers 43-41 triple overtime loss to now-Big Ten University of Southern California.

The projected 2025 NFL Draft first-rounder averaged 30.4 yards per catch, highlighted by three touchdown grabs of 40+ yards.

The product of Servite High School is now sixth in program ranks for most career receiving touchdowns (22).

In the ramp up to Week 1, McMillan was placed on the Associated Press preseason All-America First Team and seven other watch lists including for the Biletnikoff Award and Maxwell Award.
